Filippo Ganna wins Stage 1 of the Tirreno-Adriatico and wears the Maglia Azzurra

Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) has won the first stage of the 58th edition of the Tirreno-Adriatico Crédit Agricole, a 11.5km ITT from Lido di Camaiore to Lido di Camaiore. Lennard Kämna (Bora – Hansgrohe) and Magnus Sheffield (Ineos Grenadiers) recorded the second and third-best times.

Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) also leads the General Classification and wears the first Maglia Azzurra.

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner and first Maglia Azzurra Filippo Ganna said: “I’m really happy with this amazing performance today. After winning Strade Bianche with Tom Pidcock, we’re ready for a great Tirreno-Adriatico. I had a few second and third places since the beginning of the season so it’s very important for my morale to win today, also ahead of the coming Classics”.
